Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Silk Stocking

Hollywood star Rupert Everett follows in the footsteps of such acting greats as Basil Rathbone, Jeremy Brett, Ian Richardson and Peter Cushing to take on the role of the world's most famous detective in a sequel to the BBC's 2002 adaptation of The Hound of the Baskervilles. Richard Roxburgh played Holmes in that film, and although he's been replaced by Everett, Ian Hart is back as the brilliant sleuth's trusty sidekick Dr Watson in an original story by screenwriter Allan Cubitt. When a girl's body is dragged from the Thames, the police presume she was a prostitute, but Holmes is quick to spot the clues that tell she was a lady - and thus begins an investigation into a mystery that threatens to overwhelm Edwardian aristocratic society.
