Movie (1956)
American Civil War veteran Ethan Edwards (John Wayne) embarks on a quest to find his niece, who has been kidnapped by a renegade Native American tribe responsible for slaughtering the rest of his family - but as the search continues, his motives become increasingly twisted, and it becomes unclear just what he hopes to achieve by completing his quest. Powerful and epic John Ford Western, arguably the finest hour of both the director and the star. Natalie Wood, Jeffrey Hunter and Vera Miles number among the supporting cast.
