Modern retelling of Dickens' A Christmas Carol, starring Bill Murray as an unpleasant TV executive who spreads misery and gloom among his employees - until the unexpected arrival of his dead boss and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future persuades him life would be a lot better for all concerned if he mended his ways. Richard Donner's festive comedy is enjoyable viewing, even if Murray isn't quite on top form. Karen Allen, Carol Kane, John Forsythe and Robert Mitchum co-star, and there are cameo appearances by Jamie Farr, Lee Majors and Robert Goulet
