Movie (1970)
Enjoyable musical adaptation of Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol, with Albert Finney on magnificent form as the hard-hearted miser who refuses to join in with the spirit of the festive season - until a succession of spectral visitors turn up to teach him the error of his ways. The high-class supporting cast includes the always excellent Alec Guinness as Jacob Marley, with Kenneth More, Edith Evans and Paddy Stone as the other ghosts, and Michael Medwin, Anton Rodgers, David Collings and Laurence Naismith. Directed by Ronald Neame, who went on to make The Poseidon Adventure and The Odessa File
