A grumpy, divorced advertising executive faces a dilemma one Christmas Eve after accidentally startling St Nick, who falls off the roof and ends up in that great grotto in the sky. The guilty fellow's only option is to put on the red suit, jump into the sleigh and finish the round himself, much to his son's delight. However, nothing prepares him for the surprise he gets when he begins to grow a big white beard and a fat belly, which leaves him wondering whether he's really turning into the rosy-cheeked Christmas character.
