A young poker player gives up gambling when he loses all his savings to a brutal Russian club owner, turning his attention to studying law. However, when an old friend is released from prison with substantial debts to worry about, he is persuaded to return to the game. Unconvincing drama given some degree of credibility by an impressive cast, which includes Matt Damon, Edward Norton, John Turturro and John Malkovich
