Thriller, based on the second of Patricia Highsmith's novels featuring sociopathic anti-hero Tom Ripley. John Malkovich is suitably charismatic as an older and wiser version of the character previously played by Matt Damon, who is persuaded to organise the assassination of a Russian gangster. He decides that a terminally ill art dealer desperate to ensure his death does not leave his family poor would make the ideal killer.
