Movie (1994)
Lavish drama based on Thomas Hardy's novel of thwarted passions, set in the 1840s and starring Catherine Zeta-Jones as a woman who returns to her home village after travelling across Europe. Soon bored with small town life, she marries a man who has also travelled, in the hope of persuading him to leave for Paris. However, when he makes it clear he intends to live the rest of his life in the village, she seeks solace in the arms of another man, with unexpected consequences.
