Quo Vadis
Movie (1951)
Mervyn LeRoy's sprawling historical epic about a brave Roman soldier who falls in love with a Christian woman - an ill-advised romance that leaves him facing the wrath of the unbalanced Emperor Nero. It does go on a bit, but most of the performances are solid enough, and Peter Ustinov is on excellent form as the utterly bonkers ruler. Robert Taylor, Deborah Kerr, Finlay Currie and Leo Genn also star. Includes Nuacht RTE at 5.20pm
