Plunkett and Macleane

Robert Carlyle and Jonny Lee Miller are two of the best British actors around, so it comes as a bit of a surprise to learn that this period action adventure (full of amusing anachronisms) is a hit-and-miss affair. They play a couple of dashing highwaymen who make names for themselves by striking at wealthy 18th-century socialites, but the unscheduled intervention of a feisty beauty threatens their freedom. The love interest is played by Liv Tyler, while Ken Stott and Alan Cumming offer decent support
