Movie (1941)
A mild-mannered professor working in wartime Germany becomes an unlikely underground leader in the fight against the Nazis, specialising in rescuing innocent victims from under the noses of the bewildered and befuddled Axis troops. Cracking drama with thrills and spills aplenty, updating Baroness Orczy's The Scarlet Pimpernel in fine fashion. Director Leslie Howard also takes the lead as the unassuming hero, alongside Francis L Sullivan, Mary Morris, Hugh McDermott, Raymond Huntley and Manning Whiley
