Synopsis:

Tom Hanks gives a powerful performance to win the first of his two Oscars in this often harrowing and highly emotional drama. He plays a gay lawyer fighting to prove his employers discriminated against him because he has Aids. Denzel Washington is the homophobic former courtroom opponent to whom Hanks turns for help in suing his bosses, with Antonio Banderas as his long-time lover.
