Movie (2007)
This adaptation of Marjane Satrapi's autobiographical novel is a compelling animated drama, following the life of Marji, a girl in Tehran who has to deal with the consequences of her country's Islamic revolution. As a teenager, she struggles with the constrictions placed on her by political influence. Her grandmother and her mother sympathise with her frustrations and encourage her to seek a life outside of Iran... A powerful and moving story, with the voices of Chiara Mastroianni and Catherine Deneuve.
