Cary Grant received an Oscar nomination for his superb performance in this classic sentimental tearjerker. He and Irene Dunne play a couple who are devastated when it becomes apparent that they can't have children, but try to secure their happiness by adopting. However, it seems fate has dealt them a cruel blow, and when tragedy strikes again they begin drifting apart - and this time there looks to be little hope of salvaging the relationship.
