Sherlock Holmes and trusty sidekick Dr Watson are sent to guard a valuable pearl from villains. But the Baker Street sleuth is taken by surprise when the reputedly cursed gem is pilfered - and sets out to recover it. Along the way, he battles a notorious jewel thief and his murderous henchman. Entertaining and atmospheric mystery, with Basil Rathbone as the detective, and Nigel Bruce as his doughty assistant. Miles Mander and Rondo Hatton co-star
