Synopsis:
A world-weary, retired soldier is forced to take up arms once again to avenge the unprovoked murder of his son at the hands of the British during the American War of Independence - and finds himself up against a sadistic officer who wreaks havoc in the surrounding area. Roland Emmerich's adventure is a rollicking good watch. Mel Gibson takes the lead as the vengeful hero, ably supported by Jason Isaacs, Chris Cooper, Joely Richardson and the late Heath Ledger.
