Movie (1957)
When a futile French attack on a German position during World War One ends in disaster, the general in charge of the mission refuses to accept that the plan was doomed from the start. Deciding it must be the fault of the soldiers, he demands that three randomly selected men from the ranks be executed as an example to the rest. However, the colonel who led the charge is determined to defend the condemned men. Kirk Douglas, Adolphe Menjou and George Macready star in Stanley Kubrick's powerful anti-war melodrama
