Synopsis:
David Lean's sumptuous adaptation of the EM Forster novel about a headstrong Englishwoman who accuses an Indian doctor of sexual assault when she visits India for the first time. The strong cast features Judy Davis, Victor Banerjee, Peggy Ashcroft (in an Oscar-winning performance), Alec Guinness, Nigel Havers, James Fox, Art Malik and Saeed Jaffrey. This final offering from Lean is not his best film, yet few other directors could dream of matching it
