High-quality Western set in the aftermath of the American Civil War, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood as a former Confederate soldier who turns vigilante to avenge his family's murder by Unionists. A bloody confrontation leaves him a fugitive, and he joins forces with a group of disparate characters before the inevitable showdown with his enemy.
