Movie (1991)
John Candy is on good form in this oft-overlooked comedy drama. He plays a shy Chicago cop who embarks on a tentative romance with the equally self-effacing daughter of a local undertaker - but neither of them expects his mother to be so hostile to their relationship. Ally Sheedy co-stars as the object of his affections, while Maureen O'Hara is perfect as the monstrous matriarch. James Belushi and Anthony Quinn also appear.
