Visually appealing but sluggish drama set in St Petersburg in Tsarist Russia, about a dashing aristocrat who moves to his recently deceased uncle's country estate. He encounters a besotted woman, and initially snubs her advances, only to have a change of heart some years later. Directed by Martha Fiennes, the film stars her brother Ralph, who is perfectly cast alongside Liv Tyler, Lena Headey and Toby Stephens
