Doris Day stars as a tomboy living in a small American town during World War One, who finds her father less than sympathetic about her romance with fresh-faced college student Gordon MacRae, leaving her wondering whether she is doomed to be parted from her young love, or if they'll find harmony together. Appealing musical comedy, with the leading twosome bursting into spirited renditions of songs including I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles, Till We Meet Again and the title number.
