Notes on a Scandal

Judi Dench gives an intense performance as Barbara Covett, a lonely London-based history teacher whose acerbic personality results in a lack of friends. When a spirited young woman (Cate Blanchett) takes a job in the art department of the school where Barbara works, the elderly lady develops a dark obsession with her new colleague, and the discovery of an affair with a student sets her on a mission to destroy the life of her new 'friend'.
