The troubled lives of five very different New Yorkers overlap on Christmas Eve in this sentimental drama. Susan Sarandon heads the cast as a woman caring for her elderly mother, who is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's. A bride-to-be (Penelope Cruz) is having cold feet, while her fiance (Paul Walker) is being followed everywhere by an obsessive waiter (Alan Arkin). Finally, a petty crook (Marcus Thomas) plans to injure himself so he can attend a hospital Christmas party. Also starring Chazz Palminteri, who also directed, and featuring a cameo appearance by Robin Williams
