A German secret agent goes on the trail of a psychotic killer targeting prostitutes in occupied Warsaw, but an identical murder in Paris two years later directs the finger of suspicion toward a top Nazi general. Top-class World War Two whodunit, with an enviable cast including Peter O'Toole, Omar Sharif, Donald Pleasence, Tom Courtenay and Christopher Plummer.
