Movie (1984)
Hayao Miyazaki's vibrant animated fantasy follows the story of a bold princess in a post-apocalyptic world. A small tribe face a constant struggle to survive, contending with a rival faction and a species of giant insects. Nausicaa, the daughter of the kingdom's leader, hopes to find a way to communicate peacefully with the bugs rather than destroying them. But her efforts to achieve this goal lead her to uncover the shocking truth about the creatures and a plan by her people's enemies to repeat the cataclysm that nearly destroyed their world. Perhaps not as polished as Miyazaki's later films, such as Spirited Away, but a beautifully realised work of imagination nonetheless. Patrick Stewart, Alison Lohman and Uma Thurman provide the voices
