Following the destruction of a small village and its inhabitants by molten lava, volcanologist Russell Woods (Chris William Martin) vows not to let events repeat themselves, and invents an innovative machine for predicting eruptions. During a holiday in Magdalena, Russell begins to suspect that danger looms, and embarks on a mission to convince the mayor of a nearby volcano's imminent eruption and save the local residents.
