Synopsis:
Colin Firth stars as an eccentric inventor living on a Scottish estate during the 1920s, whose family find their peaceful existence disturbed when a host of strangers arrive - including suitors for his daughter's hand in marriage, and his brother-in-law's alluring fiancee. Malcolm McDowell and Rosemary Harris also star in this sensitive drama, which provides a few laughs along the way
