A petty criminal's appalling treatment and living conditions in Alcatraz drive him to murder another inmate - giving an ambitious lawyer a chance to make his name by saving him from the death penalty and exposing the prison system in the process. A fine tale inspired by real-life Alcatraz inmate Henri Young. With Gary Oldman and Brad Dourif.
