Dramatic account of the courage of English villagers during World War Two, which was an effective propaganda piece in its day and still stands as a superb example of expert film-making. Greer Garson won an Oscar for her wonderful performance in the title role, while Walter Pidgeon is rather outclassed as her husband. Also starring Dame May Whitty, Teresa Wright, Reginald Owen and Henry Travers
