John Madden directs Judi Dench, Billy Connolly and Gerard Butler in this moving period drama, detailing Queen Victoria's relationship with Mr. Brown. Whilst mourning the passing of her husband; Prince Albert, the Queen embarks on a friendship that awakens her from her depression. Rumours of a secret marriage lead to the Queen's reputation being tainted, as her advisers try to regain their influences over her.
