Movie (1957)
A mother faces poverty after a moneylender's trickery leaves her heavily in debt and her husband flees the village after being maimed in an accident. She remains determined to provide for her children as best she can, through times of flood, famine and the death of her baby. Meanwhile, her embittered son is consumed by thoughts of exacting revenge on the moneylender, whom he blames for all his family's woes.
