Monty Python's The Meaning of Life
Movie (1983)
The comedy team's final movie sees them returning to the sketch show format after the (comparatively) narrative-based comedy of Life of Brian. The film takes a typically surreal look at the secrets and taboos of life and death. It's perhaps inevitably hit and miss, but contains some of their funniest moments, from musical number Every Sperm is Sacred, to the unforgettably grotesque Mr Creosote. Starring the familiar Python team of Michael Palin, Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam, whose accompanying short film The Crimson Permanent Assurance gets things off to a suitably weird start
