Graham Chapman takes the lead role as an ordinary man in Roman-occupied Judea who is repeatedly mistaken for the Messiah, becoming a reluctant figure of worship and getting involved with a revolutionary movement. Starring John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam - in a multitude of roles each - with cameos by Spike Milligan and former Beatle George Harrison
