Movie (1986)
A party of Jesuit priests in 18th-century Brazil find their missionary activities threatened by unscrupulous colonial merchants and rival factions within the Church, leading to a series of tense confrontations which threaten not only their lives, but also their faith. Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons star in Roland Joffe's drama, with Cherie Lunghi and Ray McAnally.
