Director Michael Mann reprises the characters played by Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas in the popular 1980s TV show, but the bright shirts and light-hearted approach of the original is replaced by often brutal violence and an unflinching, gritty plot. Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx star as detective duo Crockett and Tubbs, who go undercover to infiltrate the cartel of a druglord and discover the identity of a mole in the FBI leaking information to the gangster.
