Movie (1973)
World War Two drama, based on the true story of an infamous mass execution in Italy, when over 300 Italians were put to death by the Nazis in retaliation for a Partisan attack. The story unfolds from the point of view of a troubled German officer (Richard Burton) ordered to carry out the killings and a priest (Marcello Mastroianni) outraged at the Vatican's refusal to intervene. The two stars struggle to make what they can out of the poor script. Also starring Leo McKern and John Steiner
