Movie (1994)
A rebellious medical student shuts himself away during a cholera epidemic and obsessively attempts to create a living being from salvaged body parts - with monstrous consequences. Kenneth Branagh directs and stars in this adaptation of the classic Gothic horror which should have been so good, but somehow, he manages to turn it into an overblown, yawn-inducing dirge. Robert De Niro steals the show as the creature, while Tom Hulce, Helena Bonham Carter, Ian Holm, Aidan Quinn and Richard Briers co-star
