Publisher Sean Connery falls in love with new employee Tippi Hedren and coerces her into marrying him, but a dark secret from her past threatens to destroy their relationship. Alfred Hitchcock's suspense thriller was not well-received on release, with many critics saying the leading lady wasn't up to the job and the sets were too obviously artificial - but time has certainly been kind, and it's now acknowledged as one of the great director's classics.
