Movie (2002)
Booth Tarkington's novel is brought back to life by Alfonso Arau in this lacklustre period drama, which aims to stay closer to the book than Orson Welles' 1942 adaptation. It follows events surrounding a well-to-do family, who struggle to cope as their genteel way of life is gradually eroded. Sadly, this version has little to offer apart from bad performances.
