Riveting and beautifully presented biopic charting the tragic and tortured life of artist Vincent Van Gogh, with Kirk Douglas giving a no-holds-barred performance in the lead, alongside Anthony Quinn, who won an Oscar for his brief but obviously impressive performance as fellow painter Paul Gauguin. James Donald co-stars as Van Gogh's brother, who ended up providing financial support for his sibling for years, alongside Lionel Jeffries and Pamela Brown
