Two friends who run a cargo boat together on the Brazilian coast agree to take a young prostitute on a journey along the coast. When one of the pair is wounded in a fight, the other embarks on a tentative romance with their passenger - but when his friend recovers, jealousy rears its ugly head and their lifelong friendship looks set to be destroyed for ever.
