Explorer Professor Challenger and a Newspaper reporter go on an expedition to the far reaches of the Amazon to rescue a woman trapped there, along the way they are Joined by renowned hunter John Roxton, and others, and eventually they find a plateau inhabited by pre-historic creatures, one of which they manage to bring back to London.
