The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

The conclusion of the fantasy trilogy sees Frodo and Sam battling against the odds to reach Mount Doom with the conniving Gollum, while their friends take up arms once more and face the terrible might of Sauron's forces in an apocalyptic battle. With the odds stacked against them, there's little hope of victory - and Middle-Earth may be destined to fall under the rule of the Dark Lord. Peter Jackson's breathtaking epic deservedly scooped an amazing 11 Oscars at the 2004 ceremony, including Best Film and Best Director, it's just a shame the director seemed so unwilling to end the film, with a conclusion that goes on and on.
