A fascinating, although rather biased exploration of the celebrated rock 'n' roller's life. The film follows the up-and-coming star through his formative years in Georgia, chronicling the events which eventually led him to become a legend. Leon stars in the title role, while the man himself produces - which may explain why some of the more scandalous elements of his life are rather glossed over. Jenifer Lewis and Carl Lumbly co-star
