An Estonian-born woman, who fled to Britain with her father during World War Two, begins to uncover the truth about her roots following the death of her reticent parent. Discovering photographs and letters addressed to her mother, she is shocked to realise the woman may actually be alive, and travels back to the country in a bid to find her.
