An alcoholic writer decides he can't take any more and heads for Las Vegas. He plans to drink himself to death in the glitzy gambling capital - but once there, he unexpectedly finds a soulmate in a fugitive prostitute who is prepared to accept him for what he is. Mike Figgis's bleak drama, featuring an Oscar-winning lead performance from Nicolas Cage, with Elisabeth Shue and Julian Sands.
