Powerful psychological drama based on Evan Hunter's novel about the sexual awakening of four teenagers on holiday at a beach resort, and the subsequent tragedy caused by their relationships. The cast, including Richard Thomas, Barbara Hershey, Bruce Davison and Cathy Burns acquit themselves well in often demanding roles - especially Burns, who scored an Oscar nomination for her mesmerising performances
