Synopsis:
The emperor of Japan recruits an American Civil War veteran to train his troops to wipe out a rebel force of Samurai warriors. After the defeat of the imperial army, the soldier is captured and in time comes to respect his enemies' traditions and code of honour, finally going over to their side. Period drama, starring Tom Cruise, Ken Watanabe, Timothy Spall and Billy Connolly.
