Michel Bouquet stars as long-serving French President Francois Mitterrand in this semi-fictional biopic. While the world-renowned figure battles with cancer, journalist Jalil Lespert attempts to document his career, charting the success of his socialist ideals and the ups and downs of his personal life. Without a basic knowledge of French politics, this dialogue-laden drama may make for confusing viewing, but an uncanny performance from Bouqet makes up for it
